UHD vs HD Resolution
Resolution describes the sharpness of your TV picture, usually in terms of horizontal lines of pixels. TV manufacturers are rapidly shifting over from HDTVs to Ultra HD sets (also called 4K). These 4K models have four times the number of pixels as current HDTV screens. See below for size comparisons.
Display Type: LCD, LED, & OLED
ED TVs perform well even in brightly lit rooms because they use advanced backlighting. This screen uses a thin layer of liquid crystal solution sandwiched between transparent glass panels. Small, bright LED's then serve as a backlight and shine through the LCD layer to create the image. LED TVs come in a wider variety of sizes and price options.
OLED TVs strengths include very high contrast, absolute blacks, and precise color. This is largely due to each pixel being lit independently using organic LEDs versus the backlight layer used in LED screens. This can provide a slim & sleek profile.
